I try not to waste anyone’s time with rambling or this newsletter. I try and respect your time as I do the podcast where I spend hours editing it so you have more time to do things that you also love to do.
First, means the world you’re a part of this journey I’ve been on since 2007 as Washed Up Emo but my calling in life with this little word called emo. Today, my 200th episode of the podcast is out into the world. Fittingly, it’s with someone I met over 20 years ago while in college, he in high school, at a show. Adam Lazzara from Taking Back Sunday was just a kid at every show and today, he’s still just a kid at a show.
Next month, the podcast celebrates 10 years. With that, I wanted to push forward the idea of the podcast with some help with friends I trust and admired. Earlier this year, Jake Brennan from Disgraceland and in my eyes, the band Cast Iron Hike, reached out and mentioned that he was interested in starting a network called Double Elvis and loved my show. Blown away by this, it seemed fitting to join a music centric network run by an old hardcore guy now massive in the music space of podcasting. I’m excited to see what comes from this partnership and the other shows that are on the network.
Lastly, books. My love and something I hope I get to do full time one day. Volume 3 of the Anthology series is underway as the other two volumes continue to sell and soon will be sold out early next year. Unreal and I thank you if you picked one up along the way wherever you are in the world. I’ve got a few more book endeavors underway
All this and a full time job. Like many of you, passion and work battle. Your support however you choose by just reading this, following on socials, or via Patreon or the new Twitch stream, which is basically MTV’s 120 Minutes. Thank you. I write, edit, and dream late at night or early in the morning when it’s quiet. As many of us are still in a daze or nightmare due to the pandemic, music is still that center for me and I’m sure you as well.
Thanks again for supporting this endeavor for the last 14 years.
